SafeTravel Pass (STP) - Application via the SafeTravel Portal
1. I will be submitting an entry application to ICA via the SafeTravel Portal (https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/STO/), when will i receive the outcome of my application?
Eligible applicant will receive the SafeTravel Pass (STP) via email after making the necessary payment (if applicable) for the stay at the SHN Dedicated Facility (SDF) and COVID-19 swab test at the end of the application via the SafeTravel Portal.
If you did not receive the email with the STP after making the payment at the end of the application, please write to us using the enquiry form here, with the receipt of the payment made and the details of the applicant.
2. I have an in-principle approval(IPA) from ICA for the grant of long-term facilities (e.g. Permanent Resident, Long-Term Visit Pass, Letter of LTVP Eligibility). I am required to travel to Singapore to complete the necessary formalities before my IPA expires. Due to the travel restrictions and/or flight availability, I am unable to apply for an entry approval in the Safe Travel application portal.
New entry approvals into Singapore have been reduced or halted until further notice for all long-term pass holders and visitors with travel history to higher-risk countries/regions. If you are unable to select an entry date in the Safe Travel application portal, please request for an extension to your IPA validity by writing to ICA_PR@ica.gov.sg (for PR-IPA validity) and ICA_Visit_Pass@ica.gov.sg (for LTVP-IPA validity). Travellers with expiring Letter of LTVP eligibility would need to submit a fresh application for Pre-marriage LTVP Assessment as its validity cannot be extended
ICA Approval Letter of Entry (ALE) - Entry Request
2. I am not eligible to apply for entry under the Familial Ties Lane and would like to submit an appeal to ICA for entry in Singapore as a short-term visitor, what should i do?
For non-residents with exceptional reasons (e.g. death of a family member in Singapore) to seek entry into Singapore may write to us via the enquiry form with the relevant supporting documents to facilitate smooth processing (e.g. Doctor’s memo, death certificate, traveller’s passport biodata page). ICA wil respond to the request at the earliest time possible and expedite the approval if the applicant is eligible for enry, based on our assesment.
3. My entry request was rejected. How can i make an appeal?
Each entry request is carefully considered and reviewed before a decision is made. If there are additional or updated information/documents since your last request, you may consider writing to us using our enquiry form here.
Please note that the outcome of a re-appeal will remain the same if there are no changes to your circumstances.
Approved SafeTravel Pass (STP)
4. I realised that there is an error in the name and passport details on my approved STP, how can i amend the details?
Please write to us using the enquiry form here with the STP reference number and explaining the details of the error. Kindly also include a copy of the applicant passport biodata page.
5. What if i am unable to enter Singapore within the validity of my STP?
You are not allowed to amend the date of entry or seek a refund or the payment (if applicable) of the COVID-19 PCR test and SHN dedicated facility once the application has been approved. You would need to resubmit a new application via the SafeTravel Portal and make a second payment for the new STP.
If you require an amendment of the entry date on the STP due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. cancellation of flight by the airline provider). You may write in to ICA for consideration via our enquiry form here, with the relevant supporting documents attached.
6. If i decide not to enter Singapore after applying for the STP, is the payment made for stay at the SHN dedicated Facility (SDF) and COVID-19 swab test during the STP application transferable?
No. All payments made via the SafeTravel portal are non-transferrable. If the applicant is not able to enter Singapore within the validity of the STP, no refund will be provided.
7. With the STP, do I still need to apply for an entry visa?
If you hold a visa required passport/travel document, you will need to separately apply for and obtain a valid Singapore visa prior to your departure. Please submit your visa application visa ICA’s e-service through a local contact or an authorised visa agent. If you already have an existing valid visa, you need not apply for a new visa. You can check your visa status via https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/esvclandingpage/save.
8. With the STP, how long are visitors allowed to stay in Singapore?
Visitors who are granted entry into Singapore will be issued with a visit pass by ICA at the immigration checkpoints. The duration of stay in Singapore will be generally aligned to that accorded to the passport holder prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. While in Singapore, on a visit pass, visitors are not permitted to engage in any business, professional or paid employment activities.
9. Are visitors able to extend their duration of stay in Singapore?
Visitors who require a longer period of stay beyond the Visit Pass granted on entry into Singapore may submit an application for extension of stay online via the ICA’s e-Service which allows a foreign visitor to apply for an extension of their short-term Visit Pass. The application has to be submitted at least 7 days prior to the expiry of the Visit Pass to avoid overstaying. Extension of Visit Pass will not be accepted over the counter. Each application will be considered on its own merit and there is no guarantee that an extension will be granted.
