Application for Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Test
This application is for travellers who wish to apply for a pre-departure COVID-19 PCR test.
Travellers who have received approval to travel under Singapore’s Green/Fast Lane arrangements with other countries or who hold a My TravelPass under the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) with Malaysia need not apply as they are already eligible to book a pre-departure test as part of the RGL approvals.
All other travellers must apply to be eligible for a pre-departure COVID-19 PCR test. Clinics and testing centres will not administer the test unless approval has been granted.
The cost of the PCR test is to be borne by the applicant.
Approval for pre-departure tests may be granted only for travellers from Singapore who are travelling to a destination country that has a mandatory requirement for travellers to produce a negative COVID-19 PCR test result prior to entry into the country.

Booking an Appointment
Pre-departure COVID-19 PCR testing is only done at selected clinics as listed. Please note that receipt of an application approval is not a guarantee of an appointment slot on your preferred date/time at any of the clinics. Once you have been notified of the approval via email, please contact a listed clinic directly to make an appointment. You are responsible for checking for your testing window that is in line with your destination country’s requirement.
1. Where can I take the pre-departure Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test?
Pre-departure COVID-19 PCR tests for your travel may only be performed at selected clinics as listed. The cost of the pre-departure test at each clinic is also listed.
Please ensure you have the approval letter before you proceed to the clinic. Persons without prior approval will not be allowed to purchase a pre-departure test.
2. How can I make an appointment for pre-departure PCR testing?
Please call the clinic to book your test slot.
You should make an appointment that fits your required testing window, and be present at the clinic early for the appointment, at least 48 hours prior to flight. Travellers who present at the clinic less than 38-40 hours to the flight may not be able receive the result in time for the flight. You are responsible for checking for your testing window that is in line with your destination country’s requirement. Please ensure you have obtained prior approval from a Singapore government agency before calling the clinic to make the appointment.

3. How far in advance should I make an appointment for the pre-departure PCR test?
Due to limited slots, please make your appointment with the clinic as early as possible, once your approval and flight timing is confirmed. You are responsible for checking for your testing window that is in line with your destination country’s requirement. Please ensure you have obtained prior approval from a Singapore government agency before calling the clinic to make the appointment.
Please refer to the Schedule for the “Latest Cut-off Test Timing” and book your test slot within the indicated timing.
If you do not make a prior appointment, please note that:
- There is no guarantee that there will be a test slot for you; and
- You may not get your results in time for your flight.
Travellers who miss the cut-off test timing will not be able to obtain a test result in time for their flight.
4. What details will I need to book an appointment for the PCR test?
Please have the following information on hand when making an appointment for your test:
- Approval email to take the pre-departure PCR swab test
- Identity card number and passport number
- Departure flight timing (if applicable)
- Possible times for your test slot: Please refer to the Test Schedule to confirm your timing
- Address in Singapore
- Contact number
- Email address
5. What documents should I bring for my appointment?
Please bring the following:
- Identity card and passport
- Approval letter to take the pre-departure PCR swab test
- Softcopy booking reference showing your departure flight timing (if applicable)
6. When can I expect to get my PCR test results?
You will receive your PCR test results and memo at least three hours before your departure, if you met the cut-off timing at your clinic. Please let the clinic know if you need to receive the memo by a certain time.
The clinic will email the results to your email address. You will need to print and bring the memo overseas yourself.
